Bulgarian media highlights tourist appeal of Rabat, a city rich in culture and history

Under the title “On the northwest coast of Morocco, the city of Rabat is an eclectic mix…”, the media outlet evokes the rich cultural and historical heritage of the capital of the Kingdom which “combines an Arab-Muslim past with Western modernism”.

“Its mix of Roman and Islamic monuments embodies the succession of civilizations that have passed through the city,” writes “Novini 247”, highlighting the many tourist attractions of the capital of the Kingdom.

“With architecture dating back to 1184, the city is one of the oldest in the world. Its many monuments from multiple periods of Moroccan history attract tourists from all over the world,” continues the news site, which is widely followed in Bulgaria.

The media also reports that the city of Rabat is among 124 UNESCO heritage sites whose state of conservation will be assessed during the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee, which is being held from July 21 to 31 in New Delhi, India.

In 2012, UNESCO inscribed the city of Rabat on the World Heritage List, in recognition of its historical and cultural value, the media outlet recalls, noting that the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with UNESCO, is working to protect and restore historical sites in order to ensure their survival.
