Gunpo Mayor Ha Eun-ho: ‘Improving the residential environment and solving traffic problems are top priorities’
On the 19th, Gunpo City held a report meeting on the progress of the 8th local government pledge projects, chaired by Mayor Ha Eun-ho.
This report meeting was held to conclude the first half of the 8th local government term, to review the progress of pledged projects, identify problems in project progress, seek solutions, and faithfully carry out pledges.
Among the 47 pledged projects, 21 projects were completed, including payment of elementary school entrance congratulatory money, support for longevity congratulatory money and transportation expenses for the elderly, expansion of the Banwol Lake performance hall, and improvement of transportation convenience for pregnant women, resulting in a pledge fulfillment rate of 67.4%.
The implementation rate by sector is ▲ 36.5% for a high-quality, abundant and happy future city, ▲ 85% for a vibrant and energetic economically active city, ▲ 82.5% for an educational and cultural city that fosters and realizes dreams, ▲ 65.1% for a comfortable and safe 365-day green happy city, and ▲ 72.5% for an innovation-leading city that drives change.
Gunpo City plans to complete seven projects, including the opening of the ‘Youth Space Flying’, within this year and accelerate the implementation of the project so that the implementation goal can be achieved as early as possible and the implementation rate can be achieved up to 75%.
This report focused on large-scale projects to improve the living environment and transportation.
Mayor Ha Eun-ho said that the most urgent and important tasks for Gunpo are improving the living environment and solving traffic problems, and he asked for swift and active implementation of transportation improvement projects such as the ‘1st New Town Development’, ‘Existing City Redevelopment’, ‘Geumjeong Station Integrated Development’, and ‘Expansion and Undergrounding of National Road No. 47’ so that citizens can feel tangible results.
In addition, separate from the pledged project, he said, “Now that the path for the long-awaited underground railroad has been paved, we will do our best to gather the city’s capabilities and closely prepare and respond in accordance with the government’s plan so that the undergrounding of Line 1 (Gyeongbu Line) and Line 4 (Ansan Line) can be realized.”
