The Sfakianakis Group announces the new prices for the BYD Dolphin electric vehicle, the youthful model that combines advanced technology with environmental sensitivity and the best price in the market within its category.
Guided by its vision for a sustainable future, the Sfakianakis Group is making methodical moves at all levels of the automotive industry. The advanced technology of BYD vehicles, the world’s number one seller of New Energy Vehicles, is combined with top quality and competitive prices, making electric mobility more accessible and appealing to consumers.
With the government subsidy from the “Moving Electrically 3” program, the base price of the Dolphin is estimated at €19,998, which is the price of a vehicle with a conventional or hybrid powertrain. In the case of scrapping an old vehicle, the price decreases even further, to €17,998. Combining the price with the rich equipment of the base Comfort version, the Dolphin is truly an unmatched offer.
For reference, the standard equipment of the car includes automatic transmission, metallic paint, 17” aluminum wheels, seats with electric adjustment and Vegan leather upholstery, a 12.8” infotainment screen with navigation system, a panoramic 360° camera, a heat pump, and more than 20 comfort and safety systems.
The fun character of the model is highlighted by the available modern colors. The Comfort version comes with 6 color options: Cream White, Skiing White, Urban Grey, Jet Black, and for those who want to stand out, Coral Pink and Amethyst Purple. The Design version with the standard panoramic sunroof is offered in 4 different two-color combinations, creating a sense of exclusivity.
The body color option Atlantis Grey is combined with a Jet Black roof and hood, while the colors Coral Pink, Surfing Blue, and Skiing White come with a corresponding Urban Grey combination. The Design version, in addition to the two-tone body and panoramic sunroof, includes aluminum wheels with detailing in the car’s body color as standard equipment.
With tinted rear windows and wireless smartphone charging, the price of the Dolphin Design is €28,380 (€21,514 with the subsidy from the “Moving Electrically 3” program). The technology of the BYD Dolphin is one of its most significant innovations, making it one of the most affordable and advanced electric vehicles on the market. It integrates the Blade Battery, a 60.4 kWh battery that offers a range of up to 427 km.
This battery is distinguished for its safety and durability, having successfully passed the Nail Penetration Test, known as the “Everest” of battery safety tests. The BYD Dolphin is based on the e-Platform 3.0, which integrates the electric drivetrain system 8 in 1.
This system includes the Vehicle Control Unit, the Battery Management System, the Power Distribution Unit, the Drive Motor, the Motor Controller, the Transmission, the DC-DC converter, and the On-board Charger. The result is a system efficiency of around 89%, providing both optimal performance and an excellent driving experience.
The motor is modern, permanent magnet, with a power of 204 hp and torque of 310 Nm. It accelerates the Dolphin from 0 to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h. The four driving profiles – Sport, Normal, Economy, Snow – adjust the vehicle’s functions to driving conditions and the driver’s needs.
At the same time, the disc brakes on all wheels (the front ones being ventilated) ensure short stopping distances. The Vehicle-To-Load (V2L) technology of the BYD Dolphin allows for charging external devices with 3.3 kW, making the vehicle a mobile power station. The built-in heat pump is included in the standard equipment, increasing thermal efficiency by up to 15% in winter.
The BYD Dolphin also features a complete range of driver assistance systems, such as Predictive Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Departure Prevention. Additionally, the Adaptive Cruise Control and Intelligent Cruise Control enhance the enjoyment and safety of driving, while the external camera system provides a panoramic 360-degree view.
The Euro NCAP organization has conducted safety tests on the BYD Dolphin and rated it with the maximum distinction of five stars. In fact, the Dolphin achieved an 89% score in passenger protection, one of the highest in its category. Standard equipment includes front and side (front) airbags, curtain airbags, and the one positioned between the front seats.
It is worth noting that all BYD models come standard with a full 6-year/150,000 km manufacturer warranty, an 8-year/200,000 km warranty for the battery, and an 8-year/150,000 km warranty for the electric motor. For orders placed by the end of 2024, a free 3-year service is also offered.
