As announced in the city of citrus fruits, the patriarch of Manding was inducted this Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the youth center of Kindia. The ceremony was attended by several administrative authorities of Kindia. It was Elhadj Bachir Sanoh, a renowned wise man of the city who was inducted as patriarch of Manding in Kindia.
For this induction ceremony, citizens of Manding and others met at the Kindia youth center. The brand new Manden Mansa of Kindia expressed himself in these terms: “There must be peace first. An unstable place has no guarantee. Everything that is built on a fragile base collapses. We must seek to reconcile people. We must fight against injustice. If we refuse to be fair, the population will suffer. A fair justice will help the population to live better. My first job is the quest for peace. There is no ethnocentrism,” said Elhadj Bachir Sanoh.
Elhadj Siriman Kouyaté, today the custodian and guardian of Sosso Bala, commonly called the “Bala tigui” was also there. He expressed himself in these terms: “Guinea is a family but this family is subdivided. Kindia is the meeting place, it is a cosmopolitan place. So, the meaning of this exercise this morning is the enthronement of all that claims to be from the Mandingo community of their first leader. This first leader is not elected, it is not by election as we say in our country, it is by primo geniture, the oldest”. Today it is the turn of Elhadj Bachir Sanoh, several others have preceded him that I have known but today it is his turn. I believe that today’s enthronement was the most solemn because the previous ones have not had this magnitude. The organizers called me as Bala tigui, custodian of Sosso Bala, the oldest vestige of medieval Africa which is now 819 years old. I am its guardian and I am the one who plays it.
For the president of the special delegation of Kindia, Elhadj Djanko Cissé, the enthronement of this new Manden Mansa is a step towards peace, tranquility in the city of citrus fruits. “Guinea goes with tradition. We have just come out of a ceremony that brought together almost all the notoriety of Kindia to enthrone a father, a wise man who started with our ancestors. Everything started in Guinea, in Africa, from a meeting because we must always prepare a thinking head, a head who can balance, who can give harmony to society. So, the Mandingo community deemed it necessary after the death of the illustrious Elhadj Dabo, peace to his soul, who led the reins, the destinies of the Manding of Kindia for years. So his deputy was indeed Elhadj Bachir Sanoh. Today we decided to come and enthrone him. I think that the new generation will take the example in cases like this because wisdom has always prevailed, respect for wise men and leaders is customary among us,” he adds.
The ceremony ended with prayers and blessings for the new Manden Mansa of Kindia, Elhadj Bachir Sanoh.
