The Attorney General’s Office (FGR), together with the National Civil Police (PNC), ordered the arrest of 8 people who were allegedly selling endangered animals.
“During the early morning, the FGR, in coordination with the National Civil Police (PNC), ordered the arrest of 8 people who were selling endangered animals,” the Attorney General’s Office mentioned in its X post.
According to the FGR in the statements, these subjects had in their possession different exotic birds such as yellow-naped parrots, red-fronted parakeets, parakeets, among others.
“The defendants sold these species through social media and in various municipal markets in the metropolitan area of San Salvador,” the FGR added.
Among those arrested are: Carolina del Carmen Vasquez Alfaro; Alex Mauricio Erazo Recinos; Kevin Nicolas Campos Mejia; Maria Magdalena Nieto; Dennis Giovanni Granados Escalante and Miguel Antonio Contreras Garcia.
