BYD Dolphin Now Available in Greece for Under €20,000 with Electric Mobility Subsidies

The Dolphin, BYD’s small electric model, is available in the Greek market, with a price that, taking into account the subsidy from the “Moving Electrically III” program, falls below the psychological barrier of 20,000 euros.

The importing company of BYD announced the prices and equipment levels of the new electric Dolphin. The small electric model of the Chinese company has a starting price of 26,380 euros, which, when taking into account the subsidy from the “Moving Electrically III” program, is set at 19,980 euros.

Additionally, if there is a car available for scrapping, then the subsidy for this is calculated at 2,000 euros, bringing the price down even further, to 17,998 euros.

The new BYD Dolphin is available in two equipment versions. The base version is named Comfort and offers, among other things, 17-inch aluminum wheels, metallic paint, electrically adjustable seats, and vegan leather upholstery, a 12.8-inch multimedia display with navigation system, a 360-degree camera, and more than 20 comfort and safety systems.

As for the body colors, six are available, including: two shades of white, gray, black, as well as unique pink and purple. Additionally, the higher equipment version Design, which comes with a panoramic roof, is offered in four different two-tone combinations. The Atlantis Grey body color combines with a roof and hood in Jet Black color, while the colors Coral Pink, Surfing Blue, and Skiing White have matching Urban Grey combinations.

Regarding the equipment of the Design version, it features, in addition to the Comfort: differently designed aluminum wheels with body color details, tinted rear windows, and wireless smartphone charging. The price is set at 28,380 euros, while it is reduced to 21,514 euros with the subsidy from the “Moving Electrically III” program.

The BYD Dolphin is equipped with a “Blade Battery” 60.4 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP). This offers a range that reaches 427 kilometers, according to the WLTP measurement cycle. The electric motor delivers 150 kW (204 horsepower) and 310 Nm of torque. It completes the standard acceleration 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds, with the maximum speed electronically limited to 160 km/h.

It also features four driving profiles – Sport, Normal, Economy, Snow – which adapt the vehicle’s functions to driving conditions and the driver’s needs, while the disc brakes on all wheels (the front ones are ventilated) ensure short stopping distances.

In the safety department, the BYD Dolphin is equipped with systems such as: Predictive Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Prevention, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Intelligent Cruise Control. In addition, it has received the highest rating from Euro NCAP, with five stars.

Finally, all BYD models come standard with a full manufacturer warranty of 6 years/150,000 km, an 8-year/200,000 km warranty for the battery, and an 8-year/150,000 km warranty for the electric motor. For orders placed by the end of 2024, a free 3-year service is also offered.
