In a speech in which he also suggested that Ms. Harris’ stance on abortion amounted to endorsing the “execution” of babies, the former president and Republican candidate said: “She is a radical left-wing lunatic who will destroy our country.”
“We’re not going to let that happen,” he told a crowd in North Carolina, mispronouncing Harris’ name several times.
The 78-year-old Republican has previously attacked Mr Biden because of his age, but is now forced to reverse his stance as he becomes the oldest candidate in US history.
“Baby Execution”
On Wednesday, Trump took aim at Harris, saying she was the “ultraliberal driving force behind all of Biden’s disasters.”
From calling her a “lying Kamala” to accusing communities of being “devastated by migrant crime” as a result of her work on the border, he said she was “unfit to lead”.
He also raised the politically sensitive issue of abortion after Harris promised to focus her campaign on abortion rights and fight for women’s rights to their own bodies.
“She wants an abortion in the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy. It suits her – until birth and even after birth – the execution of the baby,” said D. Trump.
Mr Harris criticized Mr Trump for seeking to ban the procedure, saying “we trust women to make their own decisions about their bodies”.
“New Victim”
Trump said on Wednesday that Democratic leaders had “undemocratically” sidelined Mr. Biden: “Now we have a new victim to defeat.”
“If we start polling her by 10 or 15 points, are they going to run a third candidate?” he added.
Trump accused Harris of also covering up for Biden’s “mental incapacity.”
Earlier on Wednesday, the White House denied covering up a possible deterioration in Mr. Biden’s health before he made the decision to withdraw from the presidential race.
Harris’ candidacy jolted Democrats after weeks of confusion over Biden, who has been under pressure to withdraw after a disastrous performance in a debate with Trump last month.
