FRANKFURT. Frankfurt Airport has resumed operations after being disrupted by an intrusion by eco-activists, the German airport announced.
Germany’s most important airport had suspended arrivals and departures after the runways were raided.
According to theenvironmental climate organization Letzte Generation (Latest Generation), six activists managed to enter the airport by cutting fences with shears before “taking themselves to different points on the runways on bicycles and skateboards”.
In a photo released by the same environmental organization, an activist can be seen sitting on the asphalt of a landing and take-off runway with a sign that says “Oil Kills”.
