Limited broadband internet connection was restored on Tuesday night after being shut down for five days. ISPAB, the organization of Internet connection companies of the country, said that broadband internet can be started in homes by tonight.
ISPAB President Imdadul Haque informed this information on Wednesday (July 24).

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has indicated to launch mobile internet soon. On Tuesday night, BTRC Chairman Engineer Mohiuddin Ahmed told the media that first internet services have been launched in government hospitals, Wasa, Desco and banks. After that, Internet was provided to the National Press Club, Dhaka Reporters Unity, various media offices, commercial areas, Bangladesh Railways, IT sector institutions.
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak visited the damaged data center at Khawaja Tower in Mohakhali of the capital on Tuesday. At that time he indicated the launch of internet service. Earlier, the state minister spoke about misuse of internet and attacks on data centers.

The state minister said, we are bringing back trial broadband connectivity on priority basis. I request that no one should be confused by lies and rumours. None of you will get confused, get emotional by fake news. The news of the mainstream media should be prioritized, it should be accepted by the people first.
Broadband Internet or WiFi connection was operational till approximately 9 pm on July 18 last night. Then it stopped completely. The same happens with mobile internet.
