A bus from the company Tumi de Oro, carrying members of the Antología del Folklore Orchestra, went off the road and caused a vehicle accident at 4:30 a.m. on July 22 at kilometer 20 of Cochas Bajo. Colonel Jhonny Valderrama, head of the Highway Protection Division, informed about the incident. As a result, nine people lost their lives and twelve suffered injuries, being transported to the Félix Mayorca Soto Hospital in Tarma.

According to RPP, the victims’ family members had to wait until after 6 p.m. at the Tarma morgue to receive the bodies of their loved ones.
