As part of the cultural, craft and tourist promotion of Guinea, the Minister in charge of Culture, Tourism and Crafts, Moussa Moïse Soumah has just stayed in Faranah. From the point of his reception 5 kilometers from the city on the Faranah-Dabola national road to his field visits, Minister Moussa Moïse received all the honors due to his rank.
This Wednesday, July 24, 2024, the minister and his entourage went to the patriarch’s vestibule where the wise men expressed their gratitude to the works of the Head of State, General Mamadi Doumbouya. From the vestibule, the ministerial delegation visited the Toro pond, before going to the construction site of the craft village located 5 kilometers from the city center.
On the ground, the contractor in charge of carrying out the work, Ansoumane Camara, spoke about the reason for the delay noted by the minister and his entourage.
“The other construction sites started well before Faranah. Labé and Lola started in 2022 and Kindia since 2018. But for Faranah, the laying of the first stone took place in March 2023. We started on our own, the governor intervened for us to help us obtain payment from the State. It was done towards the end of 2023. When we had this financing, we accelerated the work and then we came to the bank to ask for support. We deposited all the necessary guarantees, but when the bank committed to supporting us, it coincided with the explosion of the fuel depot. Consequently, they were a little reluctant (.,.) To date, the execution rate is 18%.”
In the process, Minister Moussa Moïse Sylla suggested: “What I would like to mention is to tell all entrepreneurs, all those who have contracts with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Crafts, that we are not fans of building sites where the first stone is laid without a future. We must understand that the current government wants to leave traces for the benefit of the population. When a building site is started with a ceremony, I would say pompous, it would be necessary that after that the work can continue and that we can deliver the site on time. This is what the population expects from us. Faranah is a large region that is full of several trades related to crafts. It is important for the State that this project is finished quickly so that these artisans can have a place to produce, but also to exhibit the products of their trades. We will closely monitor compliance with the commitment made by the entrepreneur…”
The city of Niger was the last stop of this visit where local artists amazed the ministerial delegation through their performances.
Keita has been lanciné since Faranah.
