After suffering from hypertension during one of the shows in Iquique, Mauricio Basualto had to leave the stage, being replaced for the rest of the tour and at the 2024 Viña Festival by Cancamusa.

The Bunkers released a public statement to inform of the final departure of drummer Mauricio Basualto, following the health problems that have plagued him since last February, when one of his concerts in Iquique had to be cancelled.

“With the trust and affection we feel for the followers of our music, We would like to officially announce the departure of Mauricio Basualto from Los Bunkers. As you know, Mauro has been away from the stage since February 1st of this year due to personal issues. The group appreciates the support and affection shown during these months and above all the respect shown in this situation,” said the band from Concepción.

The group acknowledged that Basualto’s departure “has been a complex, thoughtful and consensual decision” which, beyond the sadness it brings, we have understood as the correct step in honor of the history of the group, its present and its development in the future.”

“Mauro will always be part of the history of Los Bunkers and we continue to be friends for over 20 years. Without his energy and talent, the band would not be where it is today. For this reason, we wish you the best and much light on the paths you decide to take from now on,” he concluded.
