Gaudo, the island you want to visit, is making a comeback as a leisure tour. Among the eight islands in Gangjin-gun, Gaudo, the only inhabited island with beautiful scenery, is reborn as a mecca for activities during the hot summer.
The county is offering significant discounts on jet boards, zip tracks, and other experiences at the ‘2024 Gaudo Leisure Tour’ event, which will be held from the 26th to the 28th, to attract tourists. Jet boats will be discounted from 30,000 won to 22,000 won, and zip tracks will be discounted from 25,000 won to 15,000 won. In particular, there will be a special event where you can enjoy yachts and water motorcycles for free if you bring a receipt for over 15,000 won spent in Gangjin County on the day of your visit to Gaudo.
In relation to this event, the military recently renovated old tourist information boards, completed tree planting and preparatory work, and carried out marine debris collection and quarantine work, making full preparations to ensure that tourists can remember the beautiful Gaudo Island.
In particular, if you use the ‘Half Price + Gangjin Travel for Everyone’ event held by Gangjin-gun until the end of this year, you can enjoy a cool summer vacation without any burden as it offers discount events and overlapping benefits.
Anyone who lives outside of Gangjin can benefit from the half-price Gangjin tour by applying in advance on the Gangjin Half-Price Tourism website.
If an individual applies, up to 50,000 won will be supported, and if a team of two or more applies, up to 200,000 won, half of the travel expenses will be refunded in the form of a mobile Gangjin Love Gift Certificate.
Since Gaudo was selected as an island to visit in Jeollanam-do in 2015, 570,000 tourists visited in 2019. After showing a downward trend following the COVID-19 outbreak, the number has been steadily increasing to 330,000 recently.
Gang Jin-won, the governor of Gangjin County, said, “Starting with the Gaudo Leisure Tour, we will widely promote the new charms of the beautiful island of Gaudo to tourists and revitalize the local economy by attracting a large number of tourists.”
