218 bundles of ration rice smuggled from Viluppuram, lorry confiscated

Authorities on Thursday confiscated a lorry carrying 218 bundles of ration rice carrying ration rice from Viluppuram.

Based on the confidential information received by Villupuram District Magistrate Mohan that ration rice was being smuggled in a lorry, the Tindivanam Circle on Thursday ordered a vehicle belonging to the Tokyo Flying Corps comprising Tindivanam District Governor A. Vasanthakrishnan and Tindivanam Revenue Inspector D. Selvam. At that time, when the authorities stopped the lorry and checked it on suspicion, it was revealed that about 10,650 kg of ration rice was smuggled in 218 bundles.

Following this, the lorry with the bundles of rice was seized and handed over to Siva, the District Supply Officer, by the Flying Squadron. Meanwhile, Adhikari Mohan has ordered an inquiry into the Napas who smuggled the ration rice and arrested them.
