State Fund “Agriculture” (DFZ) transferred a total of BGN 180,000 in “de minimis” aid to four farmers who suffered in recent days from the fires in Haskovsko, reports DFZ. The money has already been transferred to the owners’ accounts.
The financial support will compensate farmers for the damage that the fire caused to their farms, destroying animals, fodder, adjacent farm buildings and arable agricultural land. Thus, they will be able to start resuming their activities as farmers.
Individual aid de minims in the amount of BGN 45,000 was received by the farmer Ivan Yanakov, whose livestock facility on the land of Harmanli burned down on July 18. A commission found that 150 ewes, 3 rams, 87 lambs, the rooms intended for raising the animals and their equipment were destroyed.
BGN 47,000 was received by the farmer “Ravna Gora Association” Ltd., raising 55 large ruminant animals (cattle) under selection control and 40 calves, to compensate for damages incurred as a result of a fire that broke out on 18.07.2024 in Harmanli municipality, Haskovo district . A commission found that 1 calf and 163,659 ha of cultivated agricultural land were destroyed, of which 156,759 ha were grazing pastures, 3.42 ha of cereal stubble, 3.47 ha of ficus stubble.
BGN 46,000 was awarded to farmer Nedko Tonev, raising 48 large ruminant animals (cattle) for damage caused after a fire on July 12 in the land of Levka village, Svilengrad municipality, Haskovo region. The commission found that the infrastructure of the used object, 49.26 ha of arable agricultural areas – pastures and adjacent arable agricultural areas, as well as 2 calves, were damaged.
BGN 42,000 was given to the farmer Nikolay Dobrev, raising 350 sheep and another 140 commodity ewes, for damage to his farm from the fire that occurred on July 12 in the municipality of Svilengrad, Haskovo region. A commission found that 38 sheep were destroyed, the building fund intended for raising the animals, as well as 53.52 ha of arable agricultural land, of which 38.23 ha were pastures for grazing, as well as burnt bales of straw and hay.
