In order to maintain its firm commitment to the environment, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) began the fifth year of the campaign: Trees for El Salvador.
This initiative, which began in 2020, has transformed landscapes and revitalized critical areas, reaffirming the country’s commitment to sustainability and biodiversity.
“For us, reforestation represents a fundamental phase in mitigating and adapting to climate change, which is why we are working permanently on this campaign,” said MARN Minister Fernando López.
According to the head of the Environment, these plants have contributed to the reforestation of more than 5,800 hectares of land in El Salvador.
“To date, we have set up and managed 34 permanent nurseries, and together with partner organizations, we have managed to produce more than 750,000 plants to date,” the official added.
