The country’s legendary band star Shafin Ahmed breathed his last at 6:50 am Bangladesh time on July 25 at Centra Hospital in Virginia, USA. His first prayer after Juma was held there on Friday (July 26) local time. This was confirmed by his family in the media.
It is also reported that about 2,000 people were present at the funeral. However, the matter of bringing Shafin Ahmed’s body has not been finalized yet.
In this regard, the artist’s son Rakin said that nothing can be said for sure about the matter of taking his father to the country. There is a lot of work to be done from here. We have to go through several processes. Only when they are done we can confirm about taking him. Now the body of the father is being kept here. Everyone pray for my father. May God keep him in peace.
Earlier, Miles Band’s vocalist and bass guitarist Shafin Ahmed went to the United States on July 9. He gave a concert there. The singer fell ill and was admitted to the hospital before taking part in another concert on July 20 in Virginia.
He went to the country of no return on Thursday (July 25) morning while undergoing treatment in the hospital. Shafin, the son of two Maharathi musicians of Bangladesh, Feroza Begum and composer Kamal Dasgupta, was himself a beige guitarist, composer and singer. He was born on February 14, 1961.
