A mass of information intended to feed an AI. Many X users noticed this Friday that a data collection service, activated on all X accounts, allowed Elon Musk’s social network to build Grok, an artificial intelligence tool also owned by the South African billionaire.
This little box, which is in the depth of privacy settings, is checked by default for all X accounts “To constantly improve your experience, we can use your posts on X as well as your interactions with users, and your entry. Grok and associated results for training and correction purposes. This also means that your interactions, inputs and outputs may also be shared with our service provider xAI for these purposes.
Apparently, it is not only the changes with Grok, who has been in France since the middle of May, but the messages and responses posted on X which are concerned.
How to write this option?
In its settings, X links to a page, written in English, which explains the objectives of data sharing. “Improve Grok’s understanding of human language and communication, improve Grok’s ability to provide accurate, relevant and effective responses, develop a sense of humor and wit to make conversations more enjoyable, ensure that Grok remains politically neutral and provides balanced answers,” he is now clear.
If this data collection does not suit you, do not worry: it is possible to write the option in two different ways. Either by making your account “private” or by checking the privacy box in settings (go to Settings and privacy page, then privacy and security, then Grok).
Please note, however, this process can only be done on the X web version, it is not possible to do it through the mobile app.
