Organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication – Department of Culture -, this eclectic event, held under the banner “The Hassani song, a melody that relates the authenticity of Moroccan heritage”, aims to give particular attention to Hassani culture, as a heritage aimed at preserving Moroccan identity and strengthening attachment to customs and traditions that symbolize the unity of the country.

Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this three-day meeting, which benefits from the support of the wilaya of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, the Regional Council and the commune of Dakhla, also aims to highlight the artistic aspect of Hassani culture and to preserve its traditions, customs and manifestations, given that it is an integral part of the components of authentic Moroccan identity.

Speaking on this occasion, the regional director of Culture, Mamoune El Boukhari, indicated that this Festival is part of the steps aimed at supporting efforts to preserve the Hassani cultural identity, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Kingdom.

The continuity of this Festival, he continued, demonstrates the efforts made by the Department of Culture, aimed at promoting and enhancing the Hassani cultural and artistic heritage.

Mr. El Boukhari noted that this cultural event also presents an opportunity to encourage artists from the southern provinces of the Kingdom and refine their talents, which can contribute to the preservation of Hassani cultural heritage.

This 16th edition, which takes place on the square next to the Maison de la Culture “Al Walaa” in Dakhla, sees the organization of a series of enticing musical evenings, with the participation of around twenty musical troupes representing the southern regions of the Kingdom, as well as groups from Mauritania.
