Godda: In a major action, the police in Godda district of Jharkhand has caught a gang smuggling liquor and recovered a huge amount of illegal English liquor from them. This incident happened on Thursday night, when the police raided Kharihani village of Pathargama police station area on the basis of secret information. 2204 boxes of illegal English liquor were found in a warehouse here, which was to be sold in Bihar. The police have arrested five people in this case, including warehouse owner Upendra Bhagat, Devendra Mahato, Shyam Mahato, Haryana resident Akil Hussain and Moradabad resident of Uttar Pradesh, Mohammad Asif.

The police had been receiving reports of alcohol smuggling in this area for a long time. Godda SP Nathu Singh Meena had been receiving such information for the past several months.
