The virtual president-elect of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaumset its commitment to strengthen the Universities for Wellbeing ‘’Benito Juarez’’.
On a working tour with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), the virtual president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum, recalled her origins as a social fighter in favor of those rejected by the UNAM.
For the above, Claudia Sheinbaum affirmed that her government will work so that the Universities for Well-being guarantee the right to education to the Mexican people.
Claudia Sheinbaum says that education was privatized in the neoliberal period
Claudia Sheinbaum said that the main objective of the Fourth Transformation is to guarantee the rights of Mexicans, such as education, health, access to housing, which were “privileges” in the neoliberal period.
In terms of education, the virtual president-elect said that one of her commitments is to strengthen the Benito Juárez Universities for Well-Being to guarantee free and humanistic education.
“We are going to strengthen the Benito Juárez Universities for Wellbeing, and continue to strengthen and expand the right to education of the people of Mexico: free, humanistic, scientific education, which is also the essence of the Transformation.”

Claudia Sheinbaum recalled that in the neoliberal period privatized education was treated as a “commodity”, as many university spaces were closed in a period of 36 years.
He said that in those years, governments did not provide solutions for lagging students, but only the option of entering private institutions existed.
AMLO recognizes Claudia Sheinbaum’s commitment to education
AMLO recognized Claudia Sheinbaum’s commitment to maintaining the program that benefits 85 thousand students and will conclude with 200 schools in the country.
This Benito Juárez University offers 80 campuses dedicated to health education, which represent an investment of 1.4 billion pesos.
AMLO said that his government closes with support for young people equivalent to 120 billion pesos, a figure well above the 7 billion that were allocated by the governments of five previous six-year terms.
