The seventh round of the home leg started tonight (Thursday), when Hapoel Kiryat Ono met Maccabi Dimona. After two games that ended in Ono’s away wins, we got a thriller in the final minutes that ended in a 27:30 win for Dimona. After two frustrating games for the Southerners that ended in home losses 21:20 and 27:26 to Kiryat Ono, she finally won. Amir Dan’s great game management, along with a fantastic display by Yotam Tal who scored eight goals gave her the victory.
Tomorrow, two more games will be played in the lower house, with Hapoel Hevel Ayelot meeting MK Beer Sheva (13:30) and AK Ness Ziona facing Bnei Herzliya (15:00). In the lower house Ono and Herzliya on the safe way to the upper playoff with 18 and 17 points respectively. The four teams that are expected to play at the House of Survival are Dimona (11 points), Ness Ziona and Hevel Ayelot (10 points each), and Beer Sheva (two points).
Tomorrow at the Upper House (15:00), a meeting between the two leaders, when Hapoel Ashdod will host AS Ramat Hasharon. The host recovered from the loss to Maccabi Rishon LeZion with a 31:34 victory in Holon. Ramat Hasharon returned with a victory from Kiryat Motzkin. Three points separate the two in the battle for the home advantage in the playoff series.
Meanwhile, Ashdod added the Serbian goalkeeper Milan Kusanovic, ex-Maccabi Tel Aviv, Rehovot and Ramat Hasharon, who is expected to land in Israel today and replace Igor Arsic between the posts. Hapoel Rishon LeZion will host MK Holon in the battle for fourth place, with a point Separates the two. The champion, Maccabi Rishon LeZion, will host Maccabi Kiryat Motzkin.
