As of Friday, July 5, 2024, nearly 49,000 transporters have registered for compensation for the stabilization of Extra and Ecopaís gasoline. Of these, 42,000 already have bank accounts. This figure represents 50% of the registry compiled in May 2024, which reported approximately 84,000 transporters.

The Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP) has been responsible for providing this information. The entity has carried out several dissemination workshops in different provinces to ensure that transporters are informed about the registration process.

In addition, carriers who have not yet registered can do so through the website: www.obraspublicas.gob.ec or they can write to the email address [email protected] to clear up your doubts.

Requirements for Gasoline Compensation Registration

Taxi, tricycle and van drivers interested in receiving compensation must have the following documents on hand:

  1. Identity card to see the fingerprint code or the RUC
  2. Bank certificate in PDF format
  3. Documentation that enables it as commercial public transport

The registration platform is permanently enabled and will remain in effect for four months, until September 24, 2024. Carriers will be able to receive compensation in an accumulated manner once the registration process is completed.
