Rohit was speaking after the first T20. In his words .. ” I am happy that Jadeja is back in the team. The team wants more from him. That is why he was promoted in the batting order. This can be expected in the upcoming matches as well. I want to see him bat in the top order. Jadeja is a very advanced battery. We have a clear idea of how to use him in limited overs cricket, “said Rohit.
Rohit also spoke about Ishant Kishan’s innings. “I have known Ishaan for years. I’m someone who knows what his ability is. An innings like the one he played against Sri Lanka was enough for him to get back to form. It’s fun to watch his game sit on one end. The way he pitched the innings was beautiful, “said Rohit.
“India need good fielding when it comes to the World Cup in Australia,” Rohit said. “I like playing on big grounds. That’s where the challenges as a batsman come into play. In Kolkata, timing alone was enough. It just kept happening. But we give up easy catches. The fielding coach will have a few more jobs left. Because by the time of the World Cup in Australia, we need a better fielding team, ”Rohit said.
India beat Sri Lanka by 62 runs. Chasing India’s target of 200, Sri Lanka were bowled out for 137 in 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Sri Lanka’s top scorer was Charith Asalanka with 53 not out. For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Venkatesh Iyer took two wickets each. The second match of the series will be played at Dharamsala on Saturday.
With the win in the first match, India took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. This is Rohit’s 10th consecutive victory as captain in T20I and as a team in India. Score India 199-2 in 20 overs, Sri Lanka 137-6 in 20 overs.
