The first plant in Azerbaijan for the production of industrial explosives, which is on the balance sheet of AzerBlast LLC (a subsidiary of AzerGold CJSC), was put into operation in Ganja.
As reported on Monday by Day.Az, citing a message on social media by Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov, who visited the facility, “this important project demonstrates the success of the public-private partnership business model in achieving such goals as creating new jobs and modern production facilities, as well as eliminating dependence on imports.”
At the initial stage, the plant is designed to produce 14 thousand tons of ANFO and H-ANFO explosives per year with an increase to 31.5 thousand tons per year.
The plant’s production line is built on the basis of the technological project of the Turkish company HTD Kimya ve Mühendislik A.Ş and is equipped with equipment from Germany, Great Britain and Turkey.
It should be noted that AzerBlast LLC was founded on the basis of a public-private partnership in order to meet the growing demand for civilian explosives in the country and eliminate import dependence (51% of the LLC’s shares belong to AzerGold CJSC and 49% to DM Servis LLC, a private company specializing in this area).
The plant produces ANFO and H-ANFO explosives intended for use in the mining and construction industries.
The total cost of investment in this enterprise is 15 million manat.
At the initial stage, the plant employs 35 people, with a subsequent increase to 65 specialists.
