Arsenal Edges Out Manchester United 2-1 in Thrilling Preseason Clash in the USA

by time news
Arsenal defeated Manchester United 2-1 in the early hours of this Sunday during their second match of the tour in the United States. The Red Devils took the lead in the scoreboard just 10 minutes in, through Rasmus Hojlund, but Gabriel Jesus brought the game level before halftime.

While Ten Hag’s team basically changed the entire squad for the second half, except for goalkeeper Andre Onana, Arteta only made changes midway through the second half, and that ended up working perfectly. Gabriel Martinelli came off the bench in the 71st minute to secure victory for Arsenal against rival Manchester United.

The Portuguese players Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot have yet to join the Red Devils’ squad in the United States. On the Gunners’ side, Fábio Vieira was a substitute used (coming on in the 63rd minute for Leandro Trossard).

This was Arsenal’s second victory in preseason, after winning, on penalties, against Bournemouth, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time. Meanwhile, Manchester United recorded their second defeat, having already lost to Rosenborg 1-0 and won against Rangers 2-0.
