The National Government invested USD 1.5 million in financial aid to 2,000 third level students from public and private institutions in Santa Elena. The presentation took place this Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Santa Elena Provincial State University, in La Libertad, in an event with President Daniel Noboa and the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (Senescyt).
The aid was allocated to prevent academic desertion and reduce social gaps in the educational aspect. The beneficiaries are women, people with disabilities, young people with limited resources and in vulnerable situations.
In his speech, the president said that he reciprocates the support of young people in the 2023 electoral process through works and benefits to increase opportunities and achieve a more equitable country.
The Head of State assured that in his tours of the province during his candidacy as an assemblyman and later as a presidential candidate, he saw the limited access to higher education, scholarships or financial aid for young students in Santa Elena.
«I have to honor not only your dreams, but my dreams that this province will move forward.“… That you have a better life. That the young people feel proud of their province, of their country, of their government, which does everything possible to improve the security situation and provide higher education to the greatest number of young people,” said President Noboa.
The president stressed that youth education is one of the main areas he has worked on during these seven months of government. “We have always supported women and young people and we will continue to do so because I firmly believe that this is the path to development, equity and progress,” he stressed.
