The Academy, inaugurated in 2010 by HM King Mohammed VI, is today “a very structured model with high-end infrastructure and high-quality support, in order to train high-level players”, stressed the former Franco-Moroccan player in a statement to MAP.

“Today, the Academy is a breeding ground for local and international football, thanks to players from this major structure” such as Nayef Aguerd, Mustapha En-Nesyri and Azzedine Ounahi, among others, he said, noting that the success of these players makes the Academy shine and highlights the sports policy undertaken by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) in favor of the development of national football.

“The fruit of this excellent work is revealed in broad daylight through the remarkable results achieved by the national football teams in the different categories,” he stressed, adding that the FRMF is banking on the long term to pursue the same virtuous dynamic and continue to promote national football.

Karim Koulla, who has over 20 years of experience as a coach and sports director in different clubs and categories, said that “there is no doubt that in the years to come, the Academy will continue to train young talents who will be followed very early by the biggest European clubs”, as is currently the case for several Academy graduates.

Thanks to this, he continued, “Morocco will continue to occupy an important place in the world of football.”

Covering an area of approximately 18 hectares, the Mohammed VI Football Academy has mobilized investments of around 140 million dirhams.

This sports structure was built and equipped according to the standards in force in world-class European training centers, with a view to ensuring that young Moroccans have the ideal conditions to benefit from high-quality training, allowing them to progress within the biggest clubs in Morocco and Europe.
