Tikamgarh: CM Mohan Yadav had announced to change the name of Chipri village of the district to Matri Dham. Now the villagers have started opposing it. The villagers have submitted a memorandum to the Tehsildar to not change the name of the village.

Actually, CM Mohan Yadav had reached Chipri village under Lidhura tehsil of Tikamgarh district on 5th July. That day there was a birth anniversary program of famous saint of North India, Rawatpura Sarkar. Chipri village is the birthplace of Sant Ravidas, so he had announced from the stage to change the name of this village to Matri Dham. During that time, the CM inaugurated a huge 61 feet Shiva statue built at a cost of Rs 2 crore on Sharda hill. Praising Sant Ravishankar Maharaj from the stage, the CM said that Maharaj has made a complete forest on the barren hill in 8 years.

Protest against changing the name of the village: Now the villagers have started protesting against this name. Hundreds of villagers from Chipri village reached Lidhura tehsil on Monday morning and submitted a memorandum in the name of the Chief Minister. The villagers have demanded from the CM that the name of the village should not be changed. Rather, Matri Dham should be added before the name of the same village. They said that it is an many-years-old village. If its name is changed, then they will continuously protest. The name of the village is their identity. The new name will end the identity. If the government does not take action on the memorandum to change the name, then the villagers will continuously protest against it.
