From July 31 (Wednesday), official activities will continue in government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions during normal hours from 9 am to 5 pm. Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain confirmed this information to journalists and said that all offices will run as per normal schedule from Wednesday.
Apart from this, the respective regulatory bodies will announce the schedule of banks and capital markets separately. After 12 days of violence and strict curfew surrounding the quota movement, the government’s office schedule is returning to normal.
Curfew started across the country from 12 midnight on July 19 amid violence surrounding the quota reform movement. July 21 to 23 was a general holiday between curfews. The office opens on June 24 when the curfew is slightly relaxed. During that phase, office activities continued for four hours from 11 am to 3 pm. If the curfew relaxation time is extended continuously, it is decided to run the office from 9 am to 3 pm from Sunday to Tuesday of this week.
Curfew was kept relaxed in Dhaka city, Dhaka district, Narayanganj, Narsingdi and Gazipur districts from 7 am to 6 pm on these three days. The curfew schedule of other districts of the country was fixed by the concerned district administration.
