Broadcaster Lee Hye-seong confessed that she went on an extreme diet when she was a college student.

The video released on the YouTube channel ‘Sebashi Lecture’ on the 29th shows Lee Hye-seong giving a lecture.

In the video, Lee Hye-sung recalled, “When I was 20, my new goal was to diet and take care of my appearance. At that time, I thought I didn’t look good. I brought a piece of unsalted chicken breast and a raw cucumber to school. I couldn’t even make plans to eat out because I was afraid that I would gain weight if I ate regular food.”

“I started doing excessive weight training while on a diet. I once did squats with 100kg rings on each side. It must have put a lot of strain on my knees,” he said.

Lee Hye-seong said, “I lost 35 kg that way, but that wasn’t a sustainable weight. I started binge eating less than half a year after starting college life.” “Binge eating often led to extreme exercise. During that time, once I started working out, I had to jump rope exactly 10,000 times and run 20 km to finish.”

“And then, when I binge-ate back then, I ate more than most adult men. I would buy two boxes of cream cheese bagels, whipped cream donut cheesecake, and donuts one-plus-one and eat them all in one sitting,” he recalled.

Lee Hye-seong said, “I still remember one time when my mom was worried about me and wouldn’t let me binge eat, so I hid a bag of donuts in the closet in my room and took them out to eat secretly, but then I suddenly got so sad that I cried.”

Lee Hye-seong said, “So that day, I went to a cafe and wrote a long letter to my mom. I wrote, ‘The reason I keep eating so much is not because I can’t control my appetite, but because I feel empty and unstable, so please wait a little longer during this time. ‘”
