A 64-year-old woman found lifeless in a home in Montreal’s Lachine borough on Monday evening was actually a murder victim. A knife was reportedly found near the body.
The lifeless body of the 60-year-old man was found inside a home located in a residential building at the corner of 32nd Avenue and Victoria Street at around 7:45 p.m. It was a relative of the victim who made this horrific revelation, as her body lay soaked in blood.
“Investigators are currently working to reconstruct the sequence of events,” said Agent Sabrina Gauthier, a spokesperson for the Montreal police. As of Tuesday morning, major crime investigators and forensic identification technicians were still at the crime scene trying to establish what had happened. Experts from the Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine Laboratory, who specialise particularly in blood spatter analysis, were also on site.
At present, no suspect has been arrested in this case. She was the 21st homicide in Montreal since the start of the year and the 16th woman to be murdered in the province in 2024.
