SernamEG praised the decision of the Eastern Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office to seek the annulment of the trial that acquitted Rodrigo del Valle.
He National Service for Women and Gender Equality (SernamEG)through its national director Priscilla Carrasco, highlighted the decision of the Metropolitan Regional Prosecutor’s Office East to present a Appeal against the decision to acquit Rodrigo del Valle in the case of Nayara Vit.
Carrasco said that “we deeply value the appeal for annulment filed by the Eastern Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office seeking to annul the ruling that acquitted Rodrigo del Valle for the femicide committed during the year 2021 against Nayara Vit.”
The Government representative stated that “we want to emphasize that in this and other cases of extreme violence It is essential to incorporate the gender perspective throughout the entire process, in order to have the highest possible penalties.”
“As a service we will continue to accompany Nayara’s mother and, of course, we will continue to work collaboratively to incorporate the gender perspective in judicial processes and we will work in coordination with the Public Prosecutor’s Office for these purposes,” said the director of SernamEG.
