Russia bans use of airspace to land British planes

Russian forces have been attacking Ukraine for a second day. Russian troops seize Ukrainian military vehicles, enter the city of Kiev at high speed in captured vehicles wearing the uniforms of Ukrainian soldiers.

Various countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, have imposed sanctions on Russia over its war on Ukraine.

A Ukrainian military plane has reportedly been shot down in fighting today.

In this case, Russia has banned planes registered in the UK from landing or crossing the airspace.
