The Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement has approved three purchase proposals including the purchase of 10,000 metric tons of phosphoric acid for Chittagong’s TSPCL. The total cost will be 170 crore 97 thousand taka.
On Wednesday (July 31), the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali was held in the conference room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat. Committee members, senior secretaries of cabinet departments, secretaries of concerned ministries and senior officers were present in the meeting.
According to sources in the meeting, the committee approved a proposal to import 10,000 metric tons (+5%) phosphoric acid for Chittagong’s TSPCL. Phosphoric acid, the main raw material for TSP fertilizer production, is imported from abroad. When international tenders were called for importing 10 thousand metric tons (+10%) of phosphoric acid in the financial year 2024-2025, two tenders were submitted. Both the tender proposals are technically responsive. M/s Best Eastern, Dhaka, the responsive lowest bidder recommended by TEC, will supply 10,000 metric tons of phosphoric acid at the end of the tender process. It will cost 66 crore 69 lakh taka. The price of phosphoric acid per metric ton will be 570 USD.
In the meeting, the committee approved the proposal to purchase a hopper dredger and necessary spare parts under the ‘Capital and Maintenance Dredging of Rabnabad Channel of Payra Port’ project. When tenders were invited for Lot-1 of the project only one firm submitted the tender and it was technically responsive. Karnaphuli Shipbuilders Limited will supply the products as the responsive sole bidder recommended by TEC after all the tender process. It will cost 553 crore 89 lakh 64 thousand 719 taka.
In the meeting, the committee approved the purchase proposal of ‘Digital Government and Economy Strengthening’ Project Lot-1: Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Expansion of Existing Nutanix Private Limited Cloud Platform in National Data Center at BCC. Two organizations submit bids when tenders are invited in a one-step, two-envelope method for execution of project work. One of those propositions is technically responsive. At the end of the tender process, Thakral Information Systems Pvt. Ltd., Dhaka, will be the responsive bidder recommended by TEC to implement the project. It will cost 51 crore 68 lakh 11 thousand 582 taka.
In the meeting, the committee approved the purchase proposal of Lot-2: Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Expansion of Existing Private Cloud Platform (DC & DR) in National Data Center at BCC of ‘Digital Government and Economy Strengthening’ project. It will cost 51 crore 63 lakh 86 thousand 290 taka. ESL and UCCL will jointly supply the product to Dhaka.
