But everyone knows that Bavaria is very attractive and therefore enjoys large numbers of visitors, not least from Berlin and Turkey. It just so happens that Söder’s number three favorite dish is kebab (with everything), and what’s more, even at his favorite Turkish restaurant in Nuremberg.
He invited 20 people to celebrate reaching the mark of 500,000 followers on Instagram, with a raffle also held through Insta. But not to leave Munich – and of course because of the many preferences, which are more important than the elections – another 20 were invited to the kebab restaurant in the state capital. Each of the lucky ones received a T-shirt with “Söder Kebab” printed on it, which online even won the Karlsruhe judgment on voting rights.
The action can definitely be interpreted as a gift to Bellevue Palace. Its current occupant, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, recently failed as a kebab diplomat. On the other hand, Söder’s kebab days are “sensitive,” as the CSU headquarters said. Let others make up their own minds about whether Islam belongs to Germany – in particular the kebab does.
