Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named three different squads for Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s tour of Pakistan. The ‘A’ team will play two four-day matches and three one-day matches in this tour. The board has given a single squad for the three matches of the ODI series, though separate teams for the two four-day matches.

The ‘A’ team is made up of cricketers of all levels. Along with the young cricketers in the HP team in Australia, experienced cricketers like Mushfiqur Rahim, Muminul Haque, there are also cricketers like Mosaddek Hossain, Soumya Sarkar who are in the middle of their career.

All in all, the selector Abdur Razzak sees this tour as a great opportunity for the young people as well as Mosaddek-Soumya. On Tuesday (July 30), this selector faced the media of Chittagong.

“Actually looking at the performance, there are some cricketers who need a chance. As we get few games at once for the ‘A’ team, it is actually a big opportunity for our players. As for the youngsters, those who are in the middle also need practice, for those cricketers.’

The ‘A’ team is scheduled to leave the country on August 6. The first four-day match will begin on August 10 in Islamabad. The second four-day match will begin on August 17 at the same ground.

After the four-day matches, Bangladesh ‘A’ team will play three one-day matches on August 23, 25 and 27. These matches will also be held in Islamabad.

Before the tour of Pakistan, the preparatory camp is going on in Chittagong from the middle of this month with the possible cricketers of the ‘A’ team. After the practice, the cricketers are now divided among themselves and are playing preparatory matches. Apart from this, the four-day matches in HP’s Australia tour are over, but there are still ODIs and T20s left.

Razzak said, ‘HP is our mixed-up team. We have some cricketers from there (HP) here as well. Not that those who are there are there.’
