New Delhi: Union Minister of Labor and Employment Mansukh Mandaviya said in the Lok Sabha on Monday that there is no shortage of jobs in the country. He cited more than 19 lakh employment opportunities available on the National Career Service Portal. Replying to supplementary questions from Trinamool Congress member Kalyan Banerjee during Question Hour in the House, Mandaviya also said that the PM Narendra Modi-led government has launched several schemes for employment generation and now the unemployment rate has come down to 3.2 percent and it is expected to come down below three percent in the future. Mandaviya said, “When the economy of a country grows at the rate of seven-eight percent, it grows when the manufacturing sector grows, the service sector grows, the purchasing power increases. When all this happens, employment opportunities also increase. There is nothing to worry about.” According to the minister, employers have posted 19 lakh employment opportunities on the ‘National Career Service Portal’ where people can apply. If someone in your family needs a job… if they have the qualification, they will get a job. There is no dearth of jobs in the country. Mandaviya said, ‘Earlier the unemployment rate was six percent. Employment was created in the Modi government, many schemes were launched. Today the unemployment rate is 3.2 percent, in future it will be less than three percent.’
