50-year-old Australian coach Mott was appointed in 2022. England won the T20 World Cup under his supervision. But the 2019 champions failed to retain the ODI World Cup title in 2023. After the T20 World Cup, the managing director of ECB, Rob, said that there is no guarantee that Mott will remain as a coach and Butler as a captain. Rob meets with both to review the tournament.
