Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina alleged that those involved in the recent violence centered around the quota movement had plans to overthrow the government like Sri Lanka. He said, it was not an ordinary movement.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, it was not an ordinary movement. It becomes almost like a terrorist attack at one stage. They (the rioters) actually planned Sri Lanka type violence and overthrow of the government.

Prannoy Verma welcomed the gradual normalization of the situation and return to normal economic activities. He said, as a close neighbour, India always supports the vision, progress and prosperity of the government and people of Bangladesh.

The High Commissioner said that Bangladesh-India relations have entered a new era of cooperation based on the national development vision of the two countries, Bangladesh 2041 and India’s 2047 vision. Digital and green partnership, joint development of satellites, blue economy, oceanography, fintech and other new areas will be cooperated.
Regarding regional connectivity, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “All my doors are open to strengthen connectivity between four countries (Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan).
