The last date for filing ITR and filing revised ITR is different. This time the last date for filing ITR is 31 July. At the same time, the last date for filing revised return is 31 December. In such a situation, first of all do not worry about whether the date for filing the return has passed or is coming closer. You can file revised return till 31 December. Whenever we file a return, it is checked. If everything is correct then the process is completed.

Who can file revised return
Under Section 139(5) of the Income Tax Act 1961, any taxpayer who has filed ITR can file a revised return. Also, those who file belated ITR, i.e., those who have filed ITR after the last date, can also file a revised return. This too has to be filed by visiting the Income Tax Department’s website. For this, the option of Revised Return has to be chosen.
