CAN-2023: Morocco, a model to follow in terms of football development (Sébastien Desabre)

San Pedro (Ivory Coast) – Morocco is a model to follow in terms of football development, assured the coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sébastien Desabre.

“Morocco is a little further ahead in terms of its overall football project. It is an example, especially, in terms of football development, structures within the country and academies,” he stressed, Saturday at a press conference preceding the match between the DR Congo and Morocco, Sunday in San Pedro (2:00 p.m. local time), for the 2nd day (group F) of the African Cup of Nations (CAN).

“At some point, there are no surprises. When we focus on the long term and let people work with real convictions in football, while putting in place the professionalism and the necessary time, the results will certainly come,” added the former Wydad Casablanca coach.

“Like Senegal, the Moroccan selection shows a lot of humility on the field, which is the strength of this team,” he noted.

Morocco is leading Group F with 3 points after its victory against Tanzania (3-0). DR Congo and Zambia, who neutralized each other (1-1), have 1 point each.
