BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the government committed an unforgivable crime by brutally attacking, killing and torturing the movement of ordinary students demanding reform of quota – what is their crime? Their list of crimes is too long to be exhaustive.
BNP Secretary General said these things in a statement on Thursday (August 1).
Mirza Fakhrul said that many parents are still unable to find their students. The university student Masrur Hasan was picked up from Jatrabari on the night of July 25, but his guardians could not find him at the police station, DB office and various hospitals. Masrur’s father and brother were taken away from the press conference by DB.
Fakhrul said that many such students are in a state of worry and helplessness as their parents are unable to find them. Although there is a law to produce before the court within 24 hours of detention, illegal work is being done by keeping DB in custody for 4-5 days. In the name of security, the coordinators of the student movement who are under treatment from the hospital are being taken to the DB office and are being held hostage without arresting them again. The story of custody without legal basis is unprecedented.
He also said that the law and order forces and Chhatra League, Jubo League cadres killed, anarchy and the government cried in the name of public mourning, but the protesting students rejected it and created an unprecedented red digital protest, which showed the unity of the people.
The BNP Secretary General said that despite evidence of firing during the quota reform movement, the call for law enforcement officials to find and hand over the culprits without arresting them is a mockery.
He said that since before the movement, BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Imran Saleh Prince’s wife is suffering from cancer, even though he is staying outside the country for the treatment of his wife and BNP Public Education Affairs Secretary Professor Morshed Hasan Khan is busy with the treatment of his wife suffering from cancer, law enforcement forces are attacking their houses. A judge’s student son was also arrested and remanded in a false case and harassed.
