jpnn.comJAKARTA – A youth football tournament was held in Sumedang, to welcome and enliven the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.
Carrying the title of the Kang Indra Cup U-12 Tournament, this event will be held at the Bitung Perbangsa Hariang Field, Sumedang.
As the title suggests, this tournament can only be participated by players in the under-12 category. According to the schedule, the tournament will be held from 4 to 17 August.
In addition to welcoming the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, this tournament was held to find young soccer players who can later bring glory to the name of Sumedang.
“In addition to commemorating the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, we are also looking for potential soccer players in Sumedang, so that quality players will emerge in Sumedang. This tournament is attended by young players in the U-12 category,” said Indra Jayaatmaja.
Furthermore, the man who is also an official in the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that the football tournament was not only about winning medals or trophies, but also about togetherness and sportsmanship.
“Football is very popular among the people of Sumedang. Hopefully the teams in Sumedang will produce professional players, maybe at the regional level, even at the national level. Thus, it will have a positive impact on the next young generation,” said Indra.
Indra also advised that during the tournament, all teams must maintain security and uphold sportsmanship, because the main goal of the tournament is to strengthen friendship.
