The Prize, which focuses on handwritten books in Arabic and Amazigh languages, and in Hassani expression, includes two categories, the ministry said in a press release.
The first category concerns handwritten books, including works, personal notes, scientific notebooks, fatwas, correspondence, collections of poems, music groups and songs of the malhoun, whether written separately or collected in notebooks, while the second concerns handwritten documents, including the Cherifian Dahirs, official or personal correspondence, acts of jurisprudence, accounting registers, university certificates, scientific licenses and genealogy certificates, specifies the same source.
The Hassan II Prize for Manuscripts is made up of the Encouragement Prize awarded in the twelve regions of the Kingdom, worth 30,000 DH, and the Grand National Prize, worth 100,000 DH, awarded to the best manuscripts having won the Encouragement Prize.
A specialized scientific committee will be responsible for examining and evaluating the manuscripts and participating documents, the press release underlines, noting that the ministry is committed to ensuring their preservation until their return to their owners after digitization, with a view to preserving them within the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco and the Archives of Morocco institution.
Those wishing to participate are asked to submit their application files to the regional or provincial directorates under the Ministry against a receipt, notes the same source, emphasizing that each file must be accompanied by a copy of the National Identity Card, and a copy of the Bank Identity Statement (RIB).
The owner of the Manuscripts undertakes to declare that the manuscripts or participating documents are his property and have not been the subject of applications in previous editions, to other entities or to another party, the press release concludes.
