The MotoGP is back from its summer break with the British GP, which started after the race in Germany. The championship returned to action this Friday in Silverstone. The first day was already the stage for the first practice sessions of the weekend, TL1 and TL2, which decide who advances to Q2.
It was in Silverstone a year ago that the new qualifying system was introduced, in which the Friday afternoon practice is the only TL that gives direct passage to the second phase of Saturday’s qualifying, that is, to the top ten of the session.
The rest of the riders must go through Q1 before Q2, where the top two riders obtain the last golden tickets for the fight for pole, which occurs with a total of 12 riders. The qualifying, on the other hand, decides the grid for the sprint race and for the main race on Sunday (unless there are penalties during the sessions).
