Peru’s Olympic Hopes Rise as Peschiera and Bazo Shine in Paris 2024, While Athletes Inga, Andía, and García Face Challenges

Although in the early hours of Peru at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games the results were not as expected after the participation of Evelyn Inga, Mary Luz Andía, and Kimberly García, who finished in 8th, 12th, and 16th place, respectively, in the women’s 20 km race walk, the afternoon turned out to be a bit better, and Stefano Peschiera and María Belén Bazo inspire hope for medals.

The national sailor obtained 7 points in his first two races and is currently leading in the men’s dinghy competitions. He will compete again on Friday, August 2nd, starting at 8:35 a.m. (Peruvian time).

On the other hand, María Belén Bazo qualified after finishing fifth in the overall standings with a score of 98 after 14 races held in the inaugural series. This Friday, August 2nd, she will compete again starting at 7:03 a.m. (Peruvian time) for her chance to advance to the semifinals.

Peru is in search of its fifth medal after 32 years and the biggest hopes right now are in surfing and sailing, in addition to shooting.
