Awami League has organized gatherings in all wards of Dhaka and in all districts and cities of the country. Besides, the party will take out a mourning procession from Engineers Institution to Bangabandhu Bhavan on Monday (August 5).
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader announced this program at an emergency press conference at the political office of the Awami League President in Dhanmondi on Saturday (August 3).
Obaidul Quader said, on the one hand, the weather is bad and on the other hand, we don’t want to get involved in any confrontational situation. We avoid such programs that may cause conflict.
He said, there will be gatherings in all wards of Dhaka City and gatherings in all districts and cities of Bangladesh on Sunday. And on August 5, we will hold our program from Engineers Institution to Bangabandhu Bhavan.
Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of Awami League and affiliated organizations took positions across the capital in mass gatherings.
Leaders and activists of Awami League have taken position in Mirpur-10 goal square of the capital. Under the leadership of Member of Parliament of Dhaka-14 Constituency and General Secretary of Jubo League Mainul Hasan Khan Nikhil, leaders and activists of all affiliated organizations of Awami League including Awami League, Jubo League, Volunteer League, Chhatra League are staying at Mirpur-10.
Besides, activists were seen taking positions in front of the Gulisthan Awami League office in the capital, Jatrabari, Dholaikhal, in front of the political office of the Awami League president in Dhanmondi, Shahbagh and other areas. In between, there was a clash with the agitators in Shahbagh.
