Manufactured in India itself
The K-9 Vajra is actually the Indian version of the South Korean K9 Thunder 155mm cannon, which is manufactured in India under license by L&T. The Indian version uses indigenous technology, including fire control systems, direct fire systems and ammunition management systems. All of these have been developed and manufactured by L&T.

This cannon is very special
K9 Vajra-T guns have been specially designed to work in difficult conditions. They have been equipped with winter kits to make them capable of working even in temperatures as low as -20°C. These kits include special batteries and lubricants that can work even in the extreme cold of mountainous areas. The most special thing about the K9 project is that more than 80% of the work in it has been done in India itself. According to L&T, more than half of the parts of the Vajra-T system have been made in India itself.
