The company said it will be unveiled on March 5, a week after Mobile World Congress 2023. The launch will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the UK.
The Nothing Phone (2a) already has a release date. The company led by Carl Pei, one of the founders of OnePlus, has confirmed that its first mid-range smartphone will be presented next March. The London-based firm already revealed the name of the device a few weeks ago, although for the moment it has not confirmed other details, such as its specifications.
Nothing claims that the Phone (2a) will be unveiled on March 5th, a week after Mobile World Congress 2023. The launch will take place at 11:30 in the UK, while in Spain it will be presented at 12:30. It is not clear whether the company will hold a launch event as such, or simply announce the device on its website or social media. In the meantime, users can register to stay up to date with all the news and also get a 20 euro discount on the purchase of this mobile phone, the price of which is still unknown.
Along with the release date, Nothing has published a video detailing some of the reasons why they have decided to launch a mid-range mobile. And although at no point is the design shown as such, there are some scenes that reveal several sketches that supposedly confirm what this Phone (2) will look like.
The sketches, however, do not match a recent leaked image of the back of the Phone (2a). In the image, the terminal has a photographic module on the side, while in the sketches we can see a centered camera. In both cases, however, they seem to include a transparent cover: one of the hallmarks of Nothing.
The brand’s first mid-range model will also not have the characteristic lighting system that we see in the Phone (2). It will also not be compatible with wireless charging, since the back does not allow the coils intended for this feature to be seen.
As for specifications, the Phone (2a) is expected to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor, which would be accompanied by 8 or 12 GB of RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB of internal storage. It is also likely to include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution.
